• Follow your guide through the Galleries and finally arrive at the Sistine Chapel.
It's a long walk and you see a lot of art on display. Paintings, tapestries, frescoes, and statues dating back to different eras and made by different artists. The subjects of these works of art are not always related to the Catholic Church, in fact you will also see ancient Roman statues, Egyptian, Etruscan, and Greek artifacts, your guide will tell you about them and will always be ready to answer your questions. It's a walk you’ll enjoy!
• Visit the Sistine Chapel and walk through more galleries to finally reach the exit.
You will finally arrive at the Sistine Chapel. No one can speak in the Sistine Chapel, so your guide will use images to tell you all about the frescoes in there before you enter the room. You will be provided with images with captions that will remind you what the guide explained once you are alone contemplating the chapel. You are not allowed to take pictures or speak in the Sistine Chapel, if you do you will be kicked out and your guide will be held responsible.
• Meet your driver and transfer to St. Peter’s Basilica.
After spending time in the Sistine Chapel, you’ll walk towards the exit. You’ll be in the same buildings you walked through on your way to the Chapel, but on a lower level and you’ll be seeing more art. Before leaving the Vatican Museums, your guide will contact the driver to make sure he’ll be ready outside to transfer you to St. Peter’s Basilica. This would be a long walk, but it’s a short drive for you. Once at the entrance to St. Peter’s Basilica, you’ll have to go through covid and security checks again, and this will take a while. Please be prepared.
• Visit St. Peter’s Basilica with your guide.
Your driver will take you very close to the entrance to St. Peter’s, so you won't have to walk far to reach it. We remind you that you’ll have to stand in line for covid and security checks and there’s no way to skip this line. We can promise you’ll be stunned, without mentioning the works of art housed in it, made by Michelangelo and Bernini, the magnificence and the size of this building are unique and overwhelming. Once you’ll see it, you’ll understand why we insist that it should not be missed. It's worth standing in line for.
• Meet your driver again and transfer to your hotel.
Your driver will wait while you tour St. Peter’s Basilica and its square with your guide and finally drive you to your hotel.
