Included in General Admission: General admission includes access to the Historical Museum and the Open Village Living History demonstrations and programs.

Open Village:##

Step back in time and experience the open village at Historic Richmond Town! The open air museum is alive with living history, demonstrated by costumed Historical Interpreters in structures throughout the campus. The campus zones interpret life in the 1770s, 1820s, and 1860s. Historic trades are displayed in shops, and domestic life is shown inside historic homes. Daily programs include talks and demonstrations of trades, political life in the 19th century, and the evolution of 1850s fashions. Set against the backdrop of the woods and wetlands surrounding the site, the Open Village is an immersive experience that educates and inspires.

The Historical Museum:##

The Museum houses exhibitions featuring the museum's artifact, photograph, and document collections. Exhibitions include Made on Staten Island, a richly detailed history of Staten Island's growth and development from its agricultural and maritime beginnings through its 19th-century industrial development; Toys!, which features 200 of the best-loved and most fondly remembered toys of the 19th and 20th centuries, and Greetings from Staten Island: a Postcard Tour featuring historic postcard views of Staten Island.

Ticket Price Promise##

During Open Village season, historical interpreters showcase living history demonstrations in buildings across the village, offering a glimpse into the daily life of Staten Islanders from the post-contact Lenape historical period (1640s), the settlement of Cocclestown (1690s), the American Revolution (1780s), the early Republic (1820s), and the Civil War era (1860s). Open Village also features daily talks and demonstrations on Lenape history, historical trades, and political life in the 19th century.

  • Historic Richmond Town includes paved and unpaved roads that lead to the various public spaces, including historic buildings restored to resemble their original construction from the 17th-19th centuries. While some of the site's buildings have wheelchair-accessible entrances, such as the Museum and Visitor Center at the 3rd County Courthouse, wheelchair access to many of the historic structures on site varies.
