About

Olhão is located in the heart of Ria Formosa Reserve. A fishermen town facing an intricate landscape of lagoons, canals, salt pans and sand banks that are separated from the Atlantic by several barrier islands.

Known as a fishermen town, with its houses with roof terraces and minarets it is a patchwork of white cubes and original chimneys which earned the epithet of the “cubist” city.

By doing this tour with us you will be guided by the history and mythic stories of Olhão. We will walk through the alleys and the labyrinth of lanes and little streets discovering interesting corners. And to have an outstanding experience we will discover the small and typical food houses to taste the best food specialties of the city and wine from the region.

The tour takes you around the city center, the alleys and labyrunth of lanes while you will learn about the history and the legends of the city. Also this tour will take you to the most iconic “tascas” (small typical restaurants) from the city to taste their specialty dishes. You will have included 3 drinks and 8 small typical snacks.

Time: 10h30 (please arrive 10 minutes earlier to the meeting point. We all want to have a great experience starting on time)
