About This Adventure

Enjoy an immersive experience bringing together all the experiences at Common Ground for a magical evening on the north shore of Kauai.

Farm Experience - 3-4 PM - a showcase of what grows on Kauai in our food forest: A collection of exotic and delicious foods brought to Hawai`i from all corners of the globe. Coffee, pineapple, tree tomato, kava, mamak'i, heart of palm, papaya, bananas, and more! Guest wander through an acer of our farm as we discuss why Hawai'i shouldn't need to import 85+% of its food and what a robust local food system can do for communities everywhere.

Dinner - 4-5 PM relax and enjoy a farm-to-table dinner with us, where you can savor the flavors of the land and share your lei experience with others across the table.

Lei Tutorial Experience - 5-6 PM - In this one-hour lei making tutorial, participants will explore the rich history and cultural significance of lei, while discovering the various plants used in lei making. You’ll learn about different methods and techniques, from stringing to braiding, with a hands-on demonstration of ti leaf lei making and kupe’e. All materials will be freshly sourced from our very own lei garden, ensuring an authentic and sustainable experience. Along the way, we’ll cover the proper care and preparation of lei materials, giving you the tools to create your own beautiful hair piece or wristlet. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers a meaningful introduction to the art of lei making.
