Travel for about 1 hour to reach the colorful city of Girona, one of the most emblematic cities of Catalonia. Founded by the Romans in 77 B.C., Girona will surprise you with its fusion between past and present times. During the route, learn about Girona’s long and rich history, from its ancient Roman roots through a thriving medieval era and evolution into a hip, modern Spanish city. When you arrive, explore Old Town on a walking tour that takes you through past landmarks like the Girona Cathedral and an iron bridge designed by famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel. Marvel through the colorful façades of the houses on the shores of the Onyar River, and visit the "Call", one of the most well-preserved Jewish Neighborhoods in Europe. Continue to a small town called Figueres near the French border. This is one of the three points that make up the so-called Dalí triangle. Dalí was born and raised in this town. Dalí wanted to leave a mark on his native city and decided to build the Dalí Theatre-Museum, upon the ruins of the old municipal theatre.
