About

Back in its glory days, Bucharest was known as Little Paris. It has the lights, the architecture, the fashion but most of all the SWEETS to prove it. Pastry chefs trained in France brought back the craft and talent and took the aristocracy from Turkish Delights to French Eclaires. On this 3 hour experience we will go through the ages of sweets and pastries in the city. Combining French, Oriental and Balkan influences.

The tour starts in front of the Romanian Athenaeum, while enjoying an eclair you will listen to how Romania was once a prosperous monarchy. From there the tour will continue towards the Revolution Square where we will find out about life in the communist times, the 1989 revolution and also have a taste of it through a famous Romanian chocolate bar.

After admiring the beautiful French-style buildings on the Victory Street and discovering why Bucharest was once known as Little Paris there will be a time to reflect at the oldest standing cakeshop in town and have a taste from the past.

The final act brings you to the Old town, where you'll see how a mix of legends from the medieval times along with customs and influences from empires of the ages come together to add to the Romanian culture we know today and with that, there is no other way to end the tour than with the most famous Romanian dessert- Papanasi .
