About

Our cooking vacations at the Tenuta Castel Venezze will allow you to immerse yourself in the culture and lifestyle of Veneto and learn to cook authentic Italian dishes in an informal and friendly environment. Classes are limited to 12 participants. The classes are small enough to accommodate cooks of all levels and are ideal for small groups of family and friends.

It is also possible to bring along a non-participating partner who can spend the day enjoying the surroundings, sightseeing, or playing golf and could then join the group at dinnertime.

• Four-night stay at Villa Tenuta Castel Venezze • Full-board accommodation in a single or double room with a private bathroom • Three cooking lessons in the morning from 10:30 am to approx. 2.30 pm (lunch included) and all meals, including Italian wines. • In the afternoon, free time to explore the surrounding region. On-demand excursions (half-day program) to the local winery and olive mill.

Daily Schedule

ARRIVAL: Around 6 pm, pick up at Rovigo train station at 7:30 pm. Dinner at our restaurant Locanda Venezze and your first introduction to local places to familiarize yourself with your new surroundings.

SECOND DAY: Breakfast and Welcome to the participants.

At 10.30 am, the first hands-on cooking class with our chef Simone. Today we'll start making dishes using techniques and recipes handed down through generations of local women: traditional Italian pasta, tagliatelle, tortellini, vegetables, and cakes. Lunch follows, including d.o.c. Italian wine.

In the afternoon you can relax at the villa, or visit the beauties of the nearby sightseeing places. We also offer you the possibility to participate in one of our tours.

THIRD DAY: Breakfast Second hands-on Cooking Lesson, during which you will learn how to make and cook other traditional Italian recipes, from appetizers to desserts. Lunch at the villa, with wine.

In the afternoon, you will have free time, or you may join a half-day tour with our guide to explore the surrounding wineries. These wine tours usually are back by 6.00 pm.

FOURTH DAY: Breakfast, Italian cooking tips and secrets about regional dishes are revealed while preparing a three-course meal using only what's in season. You will get free time during the rest of the day, and our staff will be available to set up another activity; we have many contacts with the local operators and will grant valuable services. For instance, our staff can plan an excursion to the beautiful town of Chioggia or the natural park of Po Delta for a bike ride. Please ask for a quote.

FIFTH DAY: Breakfast and check-out at 10:00 a.m. (Transfer excluded - our staff can call a taxi to transfer to the nearby train station.)

How to get to Villa Castel Venezze

Our Tenuta is in Venice's countryside, and if you do not have transport, we can arrange a taxi ride to pick you up at Piazzale Roma in Venice. This service costs approximately € 130 one way (payable directly to the taxi driver).

Alternatively, you may get a train from Venice Santa Lucia’s train station to Rovigo (the nearest city to us). A single ticket costs €8.40 per person, and there is a train every hour.

You do not need to arrange a taxi driver; check outside Rovigo's train station for the first available taxi. The taxi ride is €25/30 (payable directly to the taxi driver).
