Meet the makers and sample the very best culinary treats from around Mayo

With Westport being one of Ireland’s top foodie destinations and being home to numerous award winning eateries, our guided Westport Food Tour is the ultimate experience for visitors to Westport.

While rambling through the streets and alleyways of our beautiful town, we take in some of the finest shops, cafes and restaurants in the country, where we not only taste the very best, but we meet the best too.

We’ll chat to a 4th generation award winning Gelato. Graham, ice-creams answer to Willy Wonka, makes his ice-cream from fresh local produce every day and the flavours change with the seasons. Halloween pumpkin, Christmas pudding and summer strawberry are just a few of our favourites.

And if you like the sound of that, we’ve another 8 or 9 stops just as good where we meet the makers and bakers, the chefs and the charcutier, the shopkeeper and the chocolatier, and sample their delicious food.

Some examples of our treats on tour are:

  • Freshly baked Irish scones topped with local homemade Westport jam and Irish cream.
  • Traditional West of Ireland potato Boxty with Newport black pudding.
  • Traditional 4th generation yellow top tarts.
  • Handmade artisan Westport Chocolates.
  • Achill Island sea salted fudge.
  • Mayo meats and cheeses from our local charcutier.
  • Local Craft beer.
  • Westport handmade Ice-cream.
