You step off the air-conditioned minivan into a flat patch of red earth and dense bamboo; the air smells of hot clay and sweet tea. The entrance to the Cu Chi tunnels feels smaller than the stories — a narrow hole that invites you to stoop, to imagine the dark that once sheltered a guerrilla army.
