The trail begins with the hush of an old cave hillside and the bright surprise of oversized teeth and horns—dinosaurs standing watch alongside a mellow nature path. You step off the parking area into a short, easy loop where over 30 life-size models punctuate the understory: a slow Triceratops browsing by the trailhead, a T. rex peering through maples, a Smilodon crouched beneath ferns.

The trail sits in Missouri’s limestone karst region, where caves and sinkholes formed over hundreds of thousands of years; the dino exhibits are a modern, educational addition to the long history of show caves in the state.
Stay on marked paths and avoid disturbing vegetation—karst environments are sensitive and surface impacts can affect underground waterways and cave habitats.
