Crazy Sofa: High-Speed Inflatable Sea Ride in Badalona, Catalunya

Crazy Sofa is a high-energy towed-inflatable ride launched from the coast of Badalona, Catalunya, Spain. Clutching a foam tube shaped like a lounger, two or more riders strap in while a powerboat accelerates, and the sofa skids across swell and chop—bouncing, flipping, and throwing riders into bright sea spray. The entire experience is short and intense: about fifteen minutes of adrenaline that feels longer on the pulse and shorter on the calendar. The scene is as much shoreline as open water. Badalona’s sandy beaches and the angular pier of Pont del Petroli form the coastal frame; the Mediterranean here is often a deep turquoise over sandy bottom and small rocky outcrops. The local seascape highlights wind-driven chop rather than the steep, rocky cliffs you’ll find farther north, which makes the area ideal for inflatable tow rides. Look for gulls wheeling overhead and, if you’re lucky, a distant flash from a pod of dolphins following the boat’s wake. This particular operation, Crazy Sofa from SeaRiders, runs group departures and requires a minimum of two riders. Riders should be at least 10 years old and comfortable in the water; guides recommend basic swimming skills and arriving 20 minutes before launch to sign waivers and gear up. Neoprene rentals are available on site for a small fee, and lockers are provided. The activity is weather dependent—the operator watches wind and sea state closely and will cancel in rough conditions. Why pick Crazy Sofa in Badalona? It packs high social value: families, friend groups, and parties get the same brief, memorable rush that becomes a highlight of a summer day. It also plugs into local coastal life—after the ride, it’s easy to stroll the promenade, walk to cafés, or photograph the Pont del Petroli at golden hour. Compared with larger, fuller-day charters, this ride is inexpensive, accessible, and tailored to quick thrills rather than long-distance cruising. Practical pieces: wear secure swimwear, leave jewelry behind, and plan for a short activity window that still makes a disproportionately big memory. If you want more sea time, combine this ride with a nearby glass-bottom boat or a longer charter. For visitors staying in Badalona or nearby Barcelona, Crazy Sofa is a compact, social, and unpretentiously fun piece of coastal recreation—less a deep-sea expedition than a laugh-out-loud passport stamp for your vacation. Booking is straightforward via the operator’s online reservation page; slots fill quickly on sunny weekends, so reserve ahead. The crew runs safety briefings and fits life jackets for every passenger. People with neck or back concerns should consult a physician before joining. The operator did not provide a street address in the listing; check meeting-point details when you book. Arrival on foot takes under fifteen minutes.
