Located along the beautiful Gulf Coast in Destin, Florida, Crab Island stands out as a unique outdoor destination, perfect for family fun and group adventures alike. Emerald Island Charters | Destin Pontoons offers private pontoon boat experiences that bring this lively sandbar and shallow-water sanctuary to life. What makes this trip truly special is the perfect mix of calm turquoise waters, powdery white sand shoals, and engaging marine environment, ideal for swimming, floating, and exploring.
Crab Island itself is not an island in the traditional sense but a submerged sandbar close to Destin Harbor, creating a vibrant playground on the water each year when tide and weather conditions align. Boating here feels like stepping into a lively outdoor festival on the water, where families and friends gather to relax on lily pads, slide off floating water toys, or paddleboard across calm waters. Emerald Island Charters brings this local hotspot to you with roomy pontoons that can comfortably accommodate large groups, outfitted with amenities like Bluetooth speakers, paddleboards, slides, and more.
The captains—like Aedan, Tate, and Cody—are a big reason this company shines in the Destin outdoor scene. They bring expertise, engaging storytelling, and a genuine love of the area, making the day stress-free and packed with fun. Kids are especially delighted by hands-on moments like catching blue crabs and learning about local jellyfish species. Beyond Crab Island itself, captains will often take guests on scenic spins along the shoreline toward landmarks such as the Emerald Grande, adding variety to the excursion.
