4 hour experience
This excursion includes a day out under San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge where we will setup our crabbing stations and learn how to catch live crab right out of the BAY! Following the crabbing we will setup a cooking station in an area outdoor nearby. We will cook a traditional San Francisco style tomato based "Fisherman's Stew" or Cioppino. Using the crab that we catch along with fresh sourced clams, mussels, additional crab, fish and garlic bread (from boudins) we will have a fest with wine, soft drinks and all the essentials.
If you have a party of 4 or more, please contact us for special group pricing.
Teaches you the basics of crabbing and includes all the equipment and a 4 hour instructed class on one of the various piers located around the bay area. 1 rod & reel per person, 1 snare per guest, use of the crab net and bait. I provide all other gear needed such as weights, crab measuring gauge, 35 lb test for the mono line & a snap swivel.
After all, this is fishing, which can be hit or miss somedays. This experience is mostly focused on learning the skill of crab fishing (casting, reeling, information on gear used), effective techniques & mindful regulations. Catching the crab is up to the amount of effort put in, patience and luck of the draw. The hope is to catch as many crab as we can in the 3 hour period but remember that the number of crab can vary from day to day. Also, I will always bring enough food for everyone to eat a light meal at the end of the class.
