The night before the climb, Moshi hums with last-minute tuning — boots being taped, backpacks weighed, and guides checking oxygen meters under electric light. At dawn the convoy winds out of town, past banana plantations and coffee farms, and the western flank of Kilimanjaro rises like a stone country of weather: cloud rims, sudden blue, and a scar of ancient lava. By the time you step onto the Lemosho Glades the forest has already claimed you with damp earth and cypress-scented air; porters shoulder canvas and life continues uphill in steady, human rhythm.

Good cardiovascular fitness with experience hiking multi-day trails; ability to carry a daypack and ascend/descend several hours at a time.
