A low, Atlantic wind threads across peat and pasture as the minivan peels away from Galway city and drives west, the land opening into broad skies and folded mountains. The Twelve Bens stand like old ribs, bluish and compact, while small lakes catch the light and dare you to stop—each turn on the road feels like a change of scene in a slow, deliberate film.
