About This Adventure

Join the SC CWP class for a comprehensive 6-hour experience that equips you with essential knowledge on firearm laws, safety, and marksmanship. Enjoy hands-on training, free gun rental, and expert instruction, culminating in a shooting qualification. Perfect for first-time shooters, this course prepares you for responsible handgun ownership.

Please note: 18-20 year olds can participate in the SC CWP class and can now conceal or open carry a handgun. However, federal law prohibits the sale of handguns or handgun ammunition to individuals under the age of 21. We can not rent handguns or sell handgun ammunition to any students under 21.

For Military Rate: Required DD214 or Active-Duty Orders Active/Former Military or Active Law Enforcement WILL NOT shoot qualification course

C&S recommends first time shooters take the First Shots or C&S Basic Pistol class prior to CWP.

This fee covers ALL costs incurred by CWP applicants except for ammunition. Cost for this class includes the classroom instruction, fingerprinting, shooting qualification, free gun rental, and eye and ear protection. At the completion of class, your instructor will give you all required paperwork to be mailed off to SLED.

The course will cover:

  • Statutory and case law regarding deadly force
  • SC laws governing firearms and concealed weapons permits
  • Proper firearms storage practices that deny access to children
  • Prohibited carry locations
  • Liability and responsibility issues relating to firearms
  • Proper interaction with Law Enforcement Officers
  • The four cardinal firearm safety rules
  • Handgun safety, manipulation, and operation
  • Basic handgun marksmanship
  • Proper concealment techniques and drawing from concealment
  • Qualification on the range with the instructor
