Ascent to the Mythical Puis de Galatzó
This challenging and rewarding hike leads to the summit of Puig de Galatzó, one of Mallorca’s most legendary and mystical peaks. Beginning in shaded pine forests, the trail climbs steadily through a scenic mountain pass and a rocky quarry, becoming more demanding as it ascends. Each step offers sweeping views and a deepening connection with the island’s landscape. At the summit, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking 360° view over Mallorca and the surrounding sea. More than a physical climb, this route is a spiritual journey into nature, solitude, and the soul of the island.
The Hike Station Grading System: Beginner - Medium
Food & Beverages: Carrying ample drinking water is essential. There are no stores or other facilities along our trails. Fruit and energy bars are ideal for mid-way sustenance.
What to Bring: The Hike Station will provide for each person a small backpack. You should bring at least 1.5L of water per person, and snacks if you would like. Please bring your own: sun hat, sun cream, and swimwear for coastal hikes. Also ensure you bring any necessary medication or inhalers that you might require during the hike.
What to Wear: Suitable footwear, including socks (sports trainers are fine). Anyone wearing unsuitable footwear (such as flip-flops), or no socks, will not be able to hike. Ideally you should wear comfortable, quick-drying sportswear. A jacket or hoodie are recommended for sunset hikes, windy days, or rare cold days! We think black is best!
Carry at least 1.5 liters of water per person; there are no facilities along the trail.
Use secure, closed-toe shoes with good grip to safely negotiate rocky terrain.
Begin your hike early in the day when temperatures are cooler, especially in summer.
Bring a lightweight jacket; mountain weather can shift quickly, even on warm days.
