Guides lead small private groups from a shop near Carpinteria Street onto coastal bluffs that drop toward the Pacific and into open meadows where the trail narrows and the landscape leans toward speed. The bikes are high-end, full-suspension machines tuned to smooth cornering and forgiving landings; helmets are provided and required.
