Coastal Power: Drive the 2026 Virgil Maybach GLS600 from Huntington Beach

Drive the 2026 Virgil Maybach GLS600 through the sunlit sweep of Huntington Beach, California, and you get both theater and performance. This four-seat luxury SUV arrives with a 4.0L V8 and 575 horsepower, a two-tone exterior and a blue interior that reads like a tailor-made suit. Starting at $795, the rental is a short-course into high-performance coastal touring: quick acceleration for open stretches of Pacific Coast Highway, composed handling for urban blocks, and enough presence to turn parking lot arrivals into mini-events. Huntington Beach is the home base—Surf City USA—where wide sand, a long wooden pier, and low coastal bluffs frame effortless west-facing sunsets. Key features of a day out include the Huntington Beach Pier, Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve marshes, and the palm-lined north and south beaches that meet the Pacific Ocean. The GLS600 is especially suited to this scene: adaptive suspension smooths brittle shoreline pavement, while the roomy cabin stores beach gear for four without compromising comfort. Natural elements around the drive amplify the experience. Expect broad Pacific views, sand dunes backed by coastal scrub, and tidal wetlands that attract pelicans and migratory shorebirds. The contrast between chrome-trimmed engineering and raw ocean geology—rounded cobbles, layered sandstone outcrops, and wind-carved dunes—creates photographs that pop. Locally, Huntington Beach’s surf culture goes back decades; the city is known as a center for Southern California beach life and draws a steady stream of car and board enthusiasts. Practical notes: rentals require drivers 18+ with full coverage insurance and a deposit. The GLS600 lives in two worlds—grand touring and city errands—so plan routes that combine short freeway stints with scenic frontage roads for maximum reward. Park at designated lots near the pier, and avoid driving across sensitive dunes or through protected wetlands. On long runs the GLS600’s braking and steering balance lets you thread urban traffic and then open the throttle on wider stretches; rear passengers get climate control and ample legroom while trunks swallow surfboards or luggage with packing. Bookings can span one day to a month, making the car ideal for weekend coastal escapes or extended Southern California road trips. Be mindful of peak summer crowds and plan parking ahead. Why book this vehicle here? The GLS600 converts a routine coastal run into a cinematic spool of torque, space, and finish. For couples or small groups who value both performance and passenger comfort, it’s an efficient way to explore Huntington Beach and nearby attractions without losing the luxe feel of a private, high-powered car. Whether you aim for sunrise coffee by the pier, a midday loop along Pacific Coast Highway, or a sunset drive with the windows down, this rental packages style, speed, and a strategic launch point for Southern California’s shoreline.
