The climb begins on the south face of The O2, harness clicking, boots on a non-slip walkway as the arena’s fabric canopy slopes toward the sky. Guides set the pace and point out familiar silhouettes — Canary Wharf’s towers to the east, the curve of the Thames daring you to look further, Greenwich’s spires tucked across the river. At 52 metres above the arena, the city unfolds in a quiet, wide panorama that rewards a steady step.
