A salt-lashed wind meets the coach as it threads west from Limerick, and by mid-morning the Atlantic opens into a raw horizon. The Cliffs of Moher rise abruptly ahead—sheer faces of dark shale and sandstone that reach up to 214 metres above the crashing sea—inviting a close, instructive look during the tour's 1.5-hour stop.

Puffins are typically present in breeding season (late spring through summer); sightings depend on weather and nesting locations.
The visitor centre offers accessible facilities, but cliff paths are uneven; contact the operator ahead to discuss specific mobility needs and pickup arrangements.
The cliffs expose Carboniferous shale and sandstone formed over 300 million years; O’Brien’s Tower (1835) marks a long history of tourism to the headland.
The site balances visitor access with protected seabird colonies—stay on marked trails, avoid disturbing nesting areas, and use provided facilities to limit erosion and litter.
