Located along the north branch of the Chicago River, Albany Park has always been a vibrant neighborhood, a place of pride for the many groups of immigrants who have called it home over the decades. Much of Albany Park was built up during the golden era of brick and terra cotta architecture, a time when architects used the most expressive materials and skilled labor the city has seen. This neighborhood features some of my absolute favorite brick buildings in the city--and some absolutely wild stories, like a presidential imposter and an inside-job heist! Join this tour to learn the history of Albany Park, the humble brick, and the stories that surround us!
