Itinerary

Stop At: Mount Floyen and the Funicular Your private English speaking driver-guide picks you up at your hotel in Bergen centre and your tour begins. First part of the excursion gives you an introduction to Bergen’s centre: we start this tour off with a funicular ride to Mount Fløyen (1050 feet ASL / 320 meters ASL) to literally have an overview of the city's centre. Duration: 45 minutes Admission Ticket Not Included

Stop At: Bergen After the funicular we go on an excursion drive to the main sights, like the medieval Bergenhus fortress, Bryggen embankment, the Hanseatic quarters, the Fish market, the National Theatre, which are all located in the centre of Bergen and are worth stopping by and learning their history.

On the second part of this tour, you have several options to choose from, depending on your interests and preferences. During a 5-hour tour we can offer following choices:

  1. Edvard Grieg’s museum and villa Troldhaugen, Fantoft stave church and the Royal residence in Bergen – Gamlehaugen.
  2. The Old Bergen museum and Edvard Grieg’s museum and villa Troldhaugen.
  3. The Old Bergen museum and Fantoft stave church with a short stop at the Royal residence in Bergen – Gamlehaugen, if we have time left.
  4. None of the above and something special. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Admission Ticket Free

Stop At: Troldhaugen Edvard Grieg Museum A trip to Edvard Grieg’s museum and villa Troldhaugen, where the great composer lived and worked (entrance tickets required). Duration: 1 hour Admission Ticket Not Included

Stop At: Fantoft Stave Church A short stop at Fantoft stave church – a wooden church biult in a typical style on Norwegian medieval wooden architecture (entrance tickets required). Duration: 30 minutes Admission Ticket Not Included

Stop At: Gamlehaugen A short stop at the Royal residence in Bergen – Gamlehaugen, where the King and the Royal family stays when they are visiting Bergen (no entrance to the house). Duration: 30 minutes Admission Ticket Free

Stop At: Gamle Bergen Museum - Bymuseet i Bergen A trip to the Old Bergen museum – a town inside a town. The museum consists of over 40 wooden buildings from 18th and 19th centuries. We will visit the old bakery, drug store, old dentist's office, a sailor’s home, the party house, an old school and other quaint houses (entrance tickets required). Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Admission Ticket Not Included

Stop At: Mount Ulriken The Forth Option: None of the above and something special. Your driver-guide would like to know your interests and what you would like to see and visit. Maybe finding great photo opportunities around the city, or taking the cable car to Mount Ulriken and a short hike to the top of Bergen's tallest mountain – 2109 feet ASL (643 meters ASL). We can decide on spot and make it a unique experience. Duration: 3 hours Admission Ticket Not Included
