Simply put, City of Rocks is a cragging mecca. Located a few miles north of the Utah border in rural Idaho, there are few places with as extensively concentrated quality climbing to speak of. Anywhere! This combined with a great ease of access to camping (drive-up campsites are literally within the crags and a flip-flop with morning coffee walk away) it is no surprise the area receives worldly recognition. The City offers a wide variety of climbing and is perfect for families and learning the basics of climbing as well as perfecting more advanced trad climbing techniques on the area's many crack and flake based route.
