Operated by TUI Musement · Monterosso al Mare, Liguria
You step out onto Monterosso’s salt-stiff air and the guide points toward the ribbon of track that threads five villages along a scarred coastline. Waves push against terraces of vines and steep staircases; the train hums like a willing mule between cliff-side hamlets. The opening minutes set the rhythm: short bursts of walking, trains gliding into stations, and time to linger on harbors where pastel façades lean down toward the sea.

Yes for most, but consider mobility on uneven steps and the need to board trains; the tour is described as physically easy overall.
Yes — you can choose short trail sections, but check trail closures and any required Cinque Terre Card before setting out.
The five villages developed from early medieval settlements and were shaped by terrace agriculture on Liguria’s limestone slopes, with Monterosso documented as early as AD 643.
Cinque Terre limits vehicle traffic and uses trail passes to fund maintenance; stick to marked paths and avoid littering to protect fragile terraces and marine habitats.
