We offer our original Chuckwagon Supper followed by a great music variety show. We welcome you, your family, and groups of any kind, including bus tours, international travelers or family reunions – anyone seeking a western experience with good food and family fun for everyone!

5:00 pm - 5:45 pm - Get your tickets and have time to browse the Dances With Wolves film set and the Fort Hays Workshops & the Buffalo Hunt Roller Coaster!.

Looking out towards Mount Rushmore as you visit the Dances With Wolves film set, you see much more as you browse along the boardwalk at Fort Hays. Our self guided walking tour gives you information about how things used to be back in the wild west.

Fort Hays is more than just a set of buildings; it’s a trip back in time where you can see antiques that actually operate still today. You can find Black Hills Gold from Deadwood, help make your own tin plate or rope, and even watch the Blacksmith shop. You’ll see all this as you visit our workshops and take pictures of yourself or the kids learning how things were made back in the old west.

Visit the Rope Shop, Tin Shop, Blacksmith Shop and so much more. Let not forget the best gift shops in the Black Hills. You will not find better prices than here at Fort Hays.

6:30 pm – Supper bell rings loud calling all cowboys and cowgirls to bring their appetites. We serve up the best Chuckwagon menu in the west that’s sure to make your mouth water. It’s all served on handmade tin plates with drinks poured into tin cups. Be careful, the coffee is hot!

7:15 pm to 8:15 pm – The Fort Hays Wranglers take the stage to entertain you with the Black Hills’ most popular music variety show! You will have a foot-stompin', belly shaken’, good time! Family fun for everyone! Bring your camera and take some pictures.
