Donated to Key Largo in 1965, this is a memorial for all who have lost their lives at sea. This iconic statue is one of the most famous sites, visited by snorkelers and divers from around the world. It is located in a beautiful section of the reef in John Pennekamp State Park and is surrounded by many soft corals and a wide array of fish.
The statue depicts Christ's offering of peace. As the top of the statue is only 11 feet underwater it is easily accessible by most novice snorkelers. This makes this particular site a perfect location for snorkeling.
