A morning in Chongqing begins under a lattice of elevated roads and skybridges, where steam from street kitchens curls into the fog that earned the city its nickname. The group gathers at Liberation Monument, the pedestrian heart of Jiefangbei, and sets off into steep alleys where stairs stitch the upper and lower city together. You move through neighborhoods built on slope—stone steps, sudden plazas, and buildings strung across ravines—each turn offering a new urban vantage.
