A guided tasting that ends in a fun hands-on truffle rolling experience!
Join chocolatier Zach Townsend for an engaging journey into the world of artisan chocolates! Experience a guided tasting, challenge your palate, and learn to craft exquisite French-style chocolate truffles. With hands-on participation and personalized bonbon boxes to take home, this event promises a deliciously memorable experience for all chocolate lovers!
In this hands-on event, participants are guided through an enlightening tasting of artisan, premium chocolates of varying cacao percentages and flavor profiles, including local bean-to-bar chocolates! Chef Zach will keep it fun and interactive by asking questions along the way to challenge the group's perceptions and knowledge about chocolate and to test their taste buds to see how well the group can detect flavor nuances compared to others in the group! Who will win the Super Taster recognition? After learning about chocolate’s natural flavors, your expertise in chocolate truffle making will be taken to the next level!
Next, Chef Zach will demonstrate, along with audience volunteer assistants, techniques for making the perfect chocolate ganache (and everyone gets to taste!) in preparation for the truffle rolling. The program then becomes hands-on as participants don chocolatier gloves, are paired together to create their own “chocolate shop,” and roll and decorate their French-style chocolate truffles for each person to take home in their chocolate-colored bonbon boxes—along with copies of the recipes for everyone!
