A gray-green river skirts the road as the van leaves Dong Hoi; karst teeth rise ahead like ordered chaos, and the forest seems to breathe as you approach the cave mouth. On day one you step from light into a cool cathedral of rock—walking, climbing, crawling and even swimming your way through more than 4km of passages where dripping stone slowly sculpts stalactites and stalagmites into odd, patient shapes.

This is a challenging multi-day caving trip with crawling, climbing and short swims; participants should be in good physical condition and comfortable in tight spaces.
No formal experience is required, but familiarity with scrambling and basic swimming is highly recommended; guides instruct on techniques and safety.
Overnight camping in tents at Hang Coi is provided along with breakfast, lunch and a BBQ dinner prepared by the operator; dietary requests should be communicated at booking.
Guides evaluate conditions, provide safety equipment and will reroute or turn back if passages are unsafe; passengers with heart, spinal, or pregnancy concerns should avoid the trip.
Cha Loi’s caves are part of Quang Binh’s karst network; sections were used as shelters during the Vietnam War and the area holds long-term ties to Bru–Van Kieu communities.
The karst landscape is fragile—stick to trails, avoid touching formations and pack out all waste; local operators often support community-based tourism and conservation efforts.
