The boat eases out of Hahei, sprays of sea air cutting through the calm morning light as limestone cliffs slide into view. In two hours you’ll circle the headland, cut into Boat Harbour, peer into Orua sea cave, and pause off Cathedral Cove so the guide can point out the sculpted arch and the pale sand that seems to glow from beneath the water.
