Adventure tips

Pay the dock/reef fee on arrivalA mandatory dock and reef conservation fee (about $50 USD) is collected at check-in; bring cash to speed the process.

Use reef‑safe sunscreenThe reef is delicate—bring biodegradable or reef‑safe sunscreen and reapply before boarding rather than while snorkeling.

Bring motion‑sickness preventionIf you’re prone to seasickness, take medication an hour before boarding or use acupressure bands; the crossing can be choppy.

Lock valuables ashoreDowntown Isla Mujeres and beach clubs are safe but busy; leave nonessential valuables on the boat or in a locked bag.

Recommended gear

Reef‑safe sunscreen: Protects skin while minimizing harm to corals during snorkeling.
Water shoes: Helpful for walking rocky beaches and boarding smaller tenders at the marina.
Light windbreaker: A thin layer for the return sail when temperatures drop and the wind picks up.
Personal snorkel mask: Though equipment is provided, a fitted mask improves visibility and comfort in the water.
