THE ADVENTURE COLLECTIVE® · Independent discovery and booking for outdoor travel

Read the full experience

Morning light fractures across the harbor as the Catalina Express eases away from Long Beach — gulls quarrel above and the Pacific dares you to look farther. By the time you round the headland, Avalon’s green pier and low white buildings appear like a seaside map, and the day becomes a steady loop of breezy sea crossings, shoreline views, and a guided drive through the town’s hills.
