Nelson, located at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, boasts some of the country’s most revered mountain biking terrain. With its expansive native bush, unique granite outcrops, and sweeping ridge lines, this region commands respect from riders looking for technical challenges and rewarding descents. Gravity Nelson taps into this rugged playground, offering a shuttle service that eliminates the grind of long uphill climbs, letting you focus entirely on the thrill of downhill riding.

The Casual Shuttles to Firball Skid and Fringed Hill provide effortless access to iconic trailheads. Firball Skid involves a moderate 250-meter vertical climb that takes the shuttle instead of an exhausting pedal, launching riders into intermediate lines such as IV Line or technical favorites like Turners. For seasoned riders, the Fringed Hill drop-off climbs nearly 700 meters, setting the stage for intense expert trails like Te Ara Koa and Black Diamond, weaving through native beech forests and rugged granite sections.

What sets Gravity Nelson apart is its flexible booking system combined with local expertise. Whether you reserve a spot online to guarantee your ride or queue for a casual seat, the shuttle service fits the spontaneous or planned ride. The experienced driver also shares tips about trail conditions and local hot spots.

These shuttle rides transform what could be a grueling day into multiple adrenaline-filled descents. Nelson’s mountain biking scene is unique for its long, steep climbs contrasted by world-class single track that rewards skill and endurance. Gravity Nelson not only supports the local riding community but also makes this distinguished ride accessible to adventurous visitors.

Starting at Codgers MTB Hub, riders can maximize trail time, safely link varied terrain, and dive deep into the heart of Nelson’s mountain biking culture without the usual uphill fatigue. Whether you’re chasing flow or technical challenges, these shuttles are your gateway to some of the best riding in New Zealand.
