About

This ride is an opportunity for riders to get out there and do a true mountain ride! We trailer the horses about 3 miles north of the ranch and pick up the Castle Rock/Elbert Creek trail. From the trailhead we begin a great ascent to the top of what is called Castle Rock. At the top of Castle Rock you can see breathtaking views of the twilight mountains and a great portion of the hermosa valley. Breathe the San Juan mountains in on this ride, and enjoy the thrill of your horse carrying you up to the top of Castle Rock then safety back down.

The ride times out at about 3 hours, and because it is a more intermediate ride there is an age requirement of 12.

Riders will meet at the ranch at 8:30am to check in, and then follow our truck and trailer to the trailhead.
