The harbor air tastes of salt and diesel as the hydrofoil slips out of Table Bay, Table Mountain rising like a slow-moving wall to starboard. The sea pushes forward with a cool insistence; cormorants ride the bow wake and penguins bob like punctuation marks. Ninety minutes on the water give you close-up encounters with dolphins, seabirds and—season permitting—southern right whales, all framed by the skyline of Robben Island and the serrated silhouette of the Twelve Apostles.

The marine wildlife cruise is approximately 90 minutes, operating from Table Bay on a hydrofoil or stable vessel.
Dolphins and seabirds are commonly seen year-round; whale sightings are seasonal (best in winter-spring) and cannot be guaranteed due to natural behavior and sea conditions.
Yes—participants over 2 years old are accommodated, but children should be supervised on deck and life jacket rules followed.
Tours are weather- and sea-condition-dependent; if the cruise is canceled, providers typically offer a refund or rescheduling within their cancellation policy.
The Castle of Good Hope (built 1666–1679) served as the VOC’s replenishment hub and administrative center, anchoring Cape Town’s maritime role.
Marine wildlife tours operate within protected-area guidelines; maintain distance from animals and avoid feeding, and choose operators committed to responsible viewing.
