The walkway is maintained and supervised, but it’s suspended about 100 feet (30 m) high; children should be closely supervised and anyone with severe vertigo should consider skipping it.
Expect ~60 minutes at Cape Coast Castle, ~60 minutes at Elmina Castle, a 30-minute panoramic harbor visit, and about 90 minutes for Kakum activities including the canopy segment and short trail.
The Central Region’s forts date from 15th–17th century European coastal trade—Elmina (1482) is among the oldest Western forts on the Gulf of Guinea; Cape Coast later became a key British fortification.
