At the trailhead a scrubby track narrows and the mountain suddenly speaks in water: a steady procession of pools, chutes and slate-colored walls that push you forward. The Mela ravine drops for more than three kilometres from high limestone ridges into the valley below, alternating swim-through pools, short rappels and rock jumps that sharpen attention and reward caution with cold, clear water.

No technical experience is required; guides handle ropes and brief participants on techniques, but you must be comfortable swimming and following instructions.
Bring a swimsuit, towel, dry bag for valuables and a warm top for afterwards; the operator supplies wetsuits, helmets, booties and harnesses.
