A cool breeze lifts off the lake as your guide pilots a voyageur-style canoe across glassy water; in the distance the boardwalk threads through the upper canopy like a narrow bridge for walkers. The Canopy Tour at Haliburton Forest stitches four distinct acts into one half-day: a short drive into private woodland, a calm paddle, a riverside walk along the Pelaw River Rapids, and finally a treetop passage 10–20 metres above the forest floor.

Moderately fit — able to walk for several hours, manage canoe boarding, and climb steps while wearing a harness.
The boardwalk is over half a kilometre long and sections sit roughly 10–20 metres above the forest floor, offering elevated views across the reserve.
Children may join if they meet the operator’s safety and size requirements and can safely board a canoe and wear the required harness; check with the operator for age or height minimums.
A moderate fitness level is needed—guests should be able to walk for up to three hours, embark/disembark a voyageur-style canoe, and wear a lap harness.
Tours may be canceled for severe weather; the operator can cancel if conditions are unsafe and all sales are final, so check weather policies before booking.
