The day begins before the city heats up: an air-conditioned van threads out of Santiago and the Andes climb into view, their granite faces catching light like a slow-motion reveal. You’ll step onto a gravel riverbank where guides fit wetsuits and helmets, the Maipo’s brown water hurrying past with a tone of dare.
