About

There’s no better way to see the island! Golf carts provide quick and easy access to all the beautiful views and enticing locations Peaks Island has to offer. Used by locals and tourists alike, they're perhaps the most common mode of transportation on the island. We are located about 1 block from where you get off the ferry, just take a left at the intersection (ice cream shop) as you walk off the ferry.

More info

Ferries depart Portland regularly for Peaks, search for Casco Bay Lines to find their most current schedule. It takes about 25 minutes to reach Peaks Island on the ferry from Portland.

We time our rentals to start just in time for you to walk to our shop from the ferry. You should book a time-slot that is 30 minutes after the ferry leaves Portland if you want the cart when you arrive.

Rules

We offer a more comprehensive rule and safety chat before sending you off, but here are the most important points:

  • Nobody under 21 may operate the golf cart. In addition, nobody can sit in the driver's lap, and nobody under 21 can for any reason touch any of the instruments that make the cart work. I.e. do not for any reason let your toddler sit in your lap and put their hands on the steering wheel. It endangers you, your child, other motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
  • No alcohol, full stop. Drivers and passengers absolutely cannot drink alcoholic beverages either while riding the cart or in the case of the driver be intoxicated while operating the vehicle. Peaks Island is part of the the city of Portland where open containers of alcoholic beverages in public are illegal, but more importantly Maine OUI laws apply to everyone on the vehicle, not just drivers. Failure to adhere to both the law and our policy will result in at minimum the cessation of rental with no refund and may lead to penalties applied to your payment card and passage of your information on to the police. We take this extremely seriously.
  • Any exhibition or report of reckless or endangering behavior can result in the cessation of rental with no refund and may lead to penalties applied to your payment card and passage of your information on to the police. Again, we take this extremely seriously.
