Grand Place and surrounding streets reflect Brussels’ rise from a medieval market to a European cultural hub, with guildhalls rebuilt after the 1695 bombardment and later 19th-century arcade developments.
The historic center is sensitive to wear — minimize noise, avoid littering, and stick to public pathways to help preserve delicate façades and cobbles.
