Sunset Trails Stables in Lee's Summit, Missouri, offers an engaging six-week horsemanship course for young beginners. This program combines hands-on horse care with riding basics in a safe, nurturing environment.
Ages 6+ • 6 group lessons
This class is designed for the beginner with an emphasis on the basics of horsemanship including safety, grooming, tacking, horse anatomy, and basic horse care. Students must wear hard-soled shoes and long pants. A riding helmet is mandatory and will be provided. A parent or guardian must accompany a child to the first lesson and will be asked to sign a permission/release form before class begins.
The lessons will take place for the five consecutive Tuesdays after the initial lesson date.
Six one-hour group lessons – $219 Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.
Long pants and hard-soled shoes are required for safety and comfort during all lessons.
Parents should accompany children to the first lesson to complete necessary paperwork and introductions.
Riding helmets are mandatory and provided by the stable to ensure safety on horseback.
Bring water, especially for warmer evenings, to stay hydrated during outdoor activities.
