Dawn on Java begins with temple reliefs catching the first cool light and ends with volcanic steam painting the horizon. This four-day loop starts in Yogyakarta, leads north-west to Borobudur’s stepped terraces, cuts east across Java to Mount Bromo’s black sand sea, and finishes with the sulfur-blue glow of Ijen crater at night.
