Embark on a private boat tour in Otranto, where experienced sailors guide you along stunning coastal routes. Explore hidden caves and cliffs while savoring a delicious local lunch onboard. This unique experience combines breathtaking scenery with authentic Puglian cuisine, making for an unforgettable day on the water.
The boat trip starts from the port of Otranto and depending on the wind you decide the route with the possibility of heading south and reaching places such as Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro within the Coastal Park Otranto – Santa Maria di Leuca or north towards Torre dell'Orso.
In this part of Puglia, the coast is high and steep, often inaccessible from land, with cliffs full of arches and caves and an incredibly blue sea. It is a real wonder to sail along the coast. During sailing you have lunch on board, in the afternoon you return to Otranto.
The lunch on board consists of a light menu based on traditional recipes and strictly local products 'zero kilometers' (friselline with tomato, orecchiette, baked bread, fresh cheeses, seasonal vegetables, fruit, sweets and local wine).
Private tours fill quickly, especially in peak season—secure your spot early to avoid disappointment.
Boat decks can be slippery; sturdy, grip-soled footwear will keep you steady while boarding and exploring.
Sun exposure can be intense on the open water—pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to stay comfortable.
If you’re prone to seasickness, consider medication or remedies before departure to ensure a comfortable ride.
Otranto has been a strategic port since Roman times, with a layered history influenced by Byzantine and Ottoman maritime powers.
