About

We have two stable and safe Øien 620 boats for rental to go out to Varangerfjord for fishing or cruising. Our boats are rented from Bugøynes village, just a short walk from our Restaurant Bistroen. The boats are 620 cm long and 235 cm wide. For safety purposes we do not rent our boats for more than 4 persons when you are going fishing. Both boats are self-draining, have a steering wheel, and are equipped with echo sounders / chart plotters. Engine of boats: Suzuki 4 stroke 50 HP Fishing equipment must be brought, but life jackets are included in the boat rental price. It is possible to rent a flotation suit for NOK 100 per day. Visit Bugøynes is a registered tour operator. When you use an official and local boat rental company and register your catch, you are allowed to bring 18kg of catch per person across the Finnish border.

Pier fee & Gasoline:

A pier fee of 50nok/person will be charged on spot on top of the rental. The gasoline will be charged after the rental according to consumption.

Please note:

All persons born on or after 1 January 1980 need a boating license in order to operate a recreational craft under Norwegian flag of more than 8 metres in length or with an engine with a greater effect than 25 HP. For more information please go to: Boating license and ICC – Norwegian Maritime Authority. Everyone who rents a boat to fish is required by Norwegian law to report their catch, even if there is no catch. We use GoFish, and have already registered our company there. There you can complete the registration before you go out to sea, and register your catch.
