You step onto the red wooden kaiki at Alyki as the hull shifts and the Aegean opens ahead — turquoise patches flash where the rock shelves meet deep blue. The Captain Morgan boat eases away from the little marina, music low, wind pushing the smell of grilled bread and salt across the deck.
