You step off the van into humid Jamaican air and hear the river calling—clear, quick, daring you to come closer. The drive from Ocho Rios threads past sugarcane fields and roadside stands until the road narrows and jungle takes over, setting the stage for a compact day of cliff jumps, caves and lazy downstream floats.

3–4 hours.
Moderate fitness—comfortable with short climbs, swimming and sitting on an inner tube for up to an hour
Guides provide life jackets and close supervision, but some areas involve deeper pools and jumps—non‑swimmers should stay in shallow sections and notify guides before activities.
The tubing section typically lasts about 45–60 minutes depending on water flow and the group's pace.
Towels are usually not provided—bring your own; there are basic changing areas near the attractions but facilities are rustic.
Children can join if they are comfortable in water and meet the provider’s age and weight guidelines; check with the operator about minimum ages and mandatory life jacket use.
The St. Ann area evolved from indigenous Taíno settlements through colonial plantation routes; waterways like the White River provided local communities with freshwater and transport paths.
Trails and swim areas are sensitive—stick to marked paths, avoid stepping on vegetation or reef, and use reef‑safe sunscreen to reduce chemical impact.
