You step off the short trail and the forest opens to a bowl of water the color of cooled turquoise glass. Small cataracts tumble into deep pools; limestone ledges invite a running jump and vines hang like improvised swings. The river dares you forward, the current nudging at ankles before it opens into plunge pools that call for a splash.
