Birmingham rose as an industrial city centered on iron and steel; public art often references both its manufacturing past and key civil rights events that shaped the city.
Stick to sidewalks, avoid disturbing memorial plaques, and support local businesses along the route; using public transit to reach the start reduces the carbon footprint of your visit.
